Yesterday was an expensive day...after reading through the driver's handbook for NC Thursday, I went yesterday to get my new license. Thankfully I got the first 20 questions right so I didn't have to take all 25. The last time we had to take a written test to change our license was in Mississippi when we first married....well, we also had to take one in Kansas, but it was an open book test...and this was back when they were still written (on paper) tests. But I now have my temporary license, no picture on it like Alabama's temp, so I will have to wait for the shock of the driver's license picture...oh well, I'll brace myself and hope for the best...
Took Jarin's car in to get a front end alignment too...ended up with a new set of tires for it. We knew they were getting close to needing to be changed but two were worse than the others. But at least now, she is ready for winter and she gets free rotation and balance anytime she wants, flat fixes and road hazard insurance.
A few weeks ago, I was talking to the cashier at Cr*cker B*rrel (I had my Alabama shirt on) and she was originally from Saraland, near Mobile. Then yesterday Jarin and I ate lunch at a place we haven't tried yet and the girl working there was from Semmes, a little town very close to where we lived. Always a nice feeling to run into someone from your home state.
Cori is taking her ACT test this morning. Wishing her good luck!
It was cold this morning too, around 38 degrees.
Take care,
Sheila
You were a busy lady yesterday. You have lived all over the place and I bet that drawl stuck out like a sore thumb if you lived any where but the south.
ReplyDeleteOne of the disadvantages to changeing states. One reason we are going to go early to our reunion is so we can stay in Alabama close to the pan handle of FLorida and drive down to renew our license, no more renew on the net of write in for us old folk.
ReplyDeleteHope all else is well and Cori did good on her ACT test. Tires have gone up too much, it is frustrating.
TAke care,
Jack & Sherry down in Belmont
I like that pumpkin picture header. Sounds like you had a busy but productive day. I remember having to do the paper test many years ago when we moved from GA to AL. Helen
ReplyDeleteYou're blog is decorated nicely for Halloween.
ReplyDeleteWe don't get trick & treaters any more. I don't blame them I wouldn't trick or treat anymore. It shows the shabby plus our streets are dark.
ReplyDeleteChanging drivers licence from state to state is never fun - been there, done that. Always a bit nerve wracking in my book. Same thing with having to put money into vehicles - it's always something.
