Holes Part 1...

We had about 15 or 16 trick or treaters come this way. Lucy I haven't snow danced yet, so that snow you got isn't my fault...ha. Jack, our boogie man got loose, heard he was hitchhiking to Florida, said it was too cold here when you don't have any meat on your bones...Shirl just let me know when you are ready to dance, I'll be ready and waiting.
I ordered me a new vacuum (hoover) end of last week and got it Wednesday...so far I love it! So much easier to handle. Also ordered me a woodwick candle, supposed to sound like a crackling fire, I got it today.
Okay, now to explain the holes...

Wed. Oct. 5th...at night...the daughters decided to take a shower at the same time, different showers. Next thing we knew the toilets downstairs wouldn't flush. Some back up in our tub and shower...called the plumber who put in the plumbing here...he came out, checked around, said the problem was on the city's side...I got the number and he called them...they came out a little later. They cleared it somewhat and showed me what the camera was showing...a cable line going through the pipe. This is several feet into the ground, no reason for a cable to be that far down. They said someone would be out to replace the line...if I didn't hear from anyone in a week to call them. He also gave me his supervisor's name and number.
One week later...Wed. Oct. 12th...called them...three different times...First one (a guy) said it had been taken care of...uh, no, there has been no digging in the yard... I'm pretty sure you can't take out a pipe and put another in without some dirt getting displaced. Then I called the supervisor, voice mail...lastly, I called the first number again, different person, she said order still open, someone would call to let me know when they'd be coming back out. They came out the next day, Thurs. Oct. 13th, and marked up the roads and grass with paint...

to be continued....

Take care,
Sheila

  1. What I need is a boogie man with meat on his bones, one who can stir up some mischief, so I will feed that guy when he gets here, wonder what do boogie men eat? LOL

Now the cable thru the pipe!!! OUCH. Glad it is on the cities side. My mama once had a fence put in, the fence man set a post right in themiddle of her drain line. It was six months before it showed up, since she used little water. Then I cut a ditch 16' thru her concrete floor before locating the problem.

Anyway I hope it is solved to your satisfaction. Now if that Boogie man made a wrong turn you may find him playing with Grover!!! LOL
Love to all up that way!!!!!

  5. So you and Shirl are backing each other up on the snow dancing. Just don't do it. Dance, that is.I hate plumbing problems. I hate old house plumbing problems even worse. Nice vacumm. I have an Oreck to Jean. I hate changing the bag. It is so cruddy up where it closes. I have washed it with a wet cloth and have brushed the velcro where it closes.
