Christmas time's a'coming....

(from the net)

Spent Friday buying some Christmas gifts. I ordered one and had it sent to Mom's early Thanksgiving morning. Friday I ordered the girls big gift and had it sent to Mom's, also two for the grandsons. I picked up the other two gifts for the grandsons at Wally world and one for a niece. Picked up a couple of movies on sale too. I was going to look at Christmas wreaths for our two windows on the porch and something for the mailbox but I forgot...ha. We put the lights up outside today and brought in the Christmas tree and decorations. I'll put them up tomorrow and maybe run out and check on the wreaths. I may put some fresh boughs on the mantle to decorate it. I enjoy a real tree but one year in Mobile, Hubby had been burning some stuff and the flames were almost gone so he placed the tree on top and just a little flicker of flame burned that tree in seconds...scary...Maybe one day we'll get one in a pot and use it...ha

Take care and stay warm,
Sheila

  2. It's good to get your Christmas shopping done early. That much less to do later. LOL. My Christmas shopping has come to a complete standstill because of a family situation. It's a sad set of circumstances. I can't elaborate. We used to get a live tree and plant it every year. But stopped that when we moved here. So now it's artificial all the way. Congrats on the decorating. I bet it looks beautiful. Take care.

  3. First off I must tell you that you and Shirl, that you and her a pair!!!! I am inviting you and her to drive to Ne. and just see what you did. Ice and snow everywhere and cold to. I love your blog design. We used to have a live tree but I now have 1 ceramic, 3 made of coat hangers, and the small artificial one Ron and Kathy bought for me right after my son died.

  7. I hate it when folks beat me on the draw. I haven't raised the bed and took our tree out yet.!!!!

I know you guys will have a beautiful place, but most of all I know you all have a great time in MObile, having Christmas with Family there. It is such fun to have at least once a year to catch up, and it be a HAPPY OCCASION!

    Love from down here.

I hope you got all your Christmas decoration up.I bet it's pretty. I took more pictures of my tree but the flash was off and the one I posted was the only one that showed up good. I guess because i was close to it.Take care. Love you, mom.

  10. I told Lucy I would pray for sunshine to melt
    the snow.

I have been busy and was going to ride in the
parade tomorrow in a 1930 Woodie but I called
and decided not to ride. I have been so busy
and I need to rest. This has been a busy Season
this year. I told Jack I was going to quit
some of this volunteer work. It is fun but
tiring. Hope you and family are doing good.
I am still dancing but for NC only.

  11. Sounds like you are almost ready for Christmas. We don't do a lot of shopping, It is hard to shop when money is tight but everyone understands. I put a picture of a tree made of hangers. We have 2 but the one I posted was the prettiest. Pretty unique and something I would never try to do.

  12. Sheila, Lucy told Jack that you were a bad
influence on me because you had me dancing
for Snow. Jack knows I don't need help getting
into trouble. I told Lucy we only dance for
Snow in NC. We are having rain, but may
turn colder...We can still hope for a White
    Christmas it would be beautiful.

  13. I love your side bar ornaments. Now for the nitty gritty, You and Shirl started something and you better fix it. If you girls don't stop we will be buried in snow. Turn off whatever you turned on. lol
