Everyone loves a parade...

Here are a few pictures I took of the Christmas parade in Mocksville. It was mostly antique cars and tractors. I wanted to go to a small town parade and I enjoyed it. Jarin went with me. Of course, they threw out lots of candy. I gave most of what I picked up to the little girls in front of me. This was on the 17th of November, I think they had it earlier this year for some reason. Santa was at the end, he was walking and stopped at the intersection and was quickly surrounded by children. So I didn't get a picture of him. I'm used to him being on a float or firetruck at the end. I saw some pictures, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, of the Mount Airy Christmas parade. I think I'll try to go to it next year. I didn't hear anything about it until afterward or I might have went this year. Jack I knew you'd enjoy these cars...I have a few more that I didn't post this time.

This was a guy on one of the bikes with a large front wheel.
He drove in circles, I'm assuming because he didn't have brakes.
The little Food Lion truck.
This looked like it should have been pulled by horses.
Yes, there were horses in the parade...
and a high school band and all such as that.
No shriners on go carts though...

Oh yeah, and Daniel Boone and his parents lived in
the area...

Happy December,
Sheila

  3. Glad you enjoyed the parade. Really like the pictures. Wouldn't mind having that yellow and black Ford even though Jack doesn't consider it an antique. Your need to post more often. Your antique brother, Ronnie

  5. I like your Christmasy look. Even if it is not spelled right it is Christmasy. We have no snow even if it was forecast. You and Shirl can just go look at my header when you get a hankering for snow from a few years past.
