We are still here. We haven't washed away in the rain. Hubby did have the birthday I mentioned in the last post.
I finally caught a picture of the illusive hummingbird. I sat outside for quite awhile with camera in hand...no hummingbird...tried again...still no hummingbird. But every time I came in and peeked out the window, there he/she was. Finally I had to settle for a picture through the window.

Two weeks ago, our Chihuahua Rylie was injured badly by the neighbors greyhounds. They were walking them because they had just had a patio poured and couldn't let them out back. Our other neighbor (house on corner) on the other side has a black metal fence, and when I let Rylie out to potty, she saw them in the road and went through both sides of their fence to get to them. By the time I made it around the house they had already hurt her. She was yelping and flopping on the side of the road with a big gash on her back. Thankfully she had no broken bones, they put 16 stitches in her back, 2 on her shoulder and 1 on the puncture wound on her throat. She ended up back at the vet, about a week later, because of infection. The cleaned it up and put in drains (don't know why they didn't do this the first time). She also had a little dead tissue behind her front leg. She stayed at the vets until Tuesday morning. I hope she is able to heal now without any more problems. She goes back for a check-up Monday.

I hope every one has a great 4th of July! We are planning to grill some burgers and hot dogs.
Take care,
Sheila
Hope your little doggie keeps healing. Our poor Susie (cat) has been attacked several times by neighborhood dogs in our own yard. You blog is so pretty and cool looking. Hope your 4th is going nicely. We're going next town over tonight to watch the fireworks.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th to you too
ReplyDeleteHope your sweet dog heals asap. Poor thing. HAPPY 4th. ENJOY! It's raining here.
ReplyDeletePoor little thing. You can see she is still miserable and hurting. Sending prayers that she will make it through this. Hope your cookout goes well.
ReplyDeleteIt breaks my heart to see Riley hurt, I hope she doing better. What's with the halo around her neck? Wet and rainy day here the past two days. Love you. Mom
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice 4th. I am so sorry about
ReplyDeletethe little dog. I have heard several large dogs even attacting people. Hope it gets better soon. God bless it little heart.
I have approached Jack about helping with building the Ark. I haven't had an answer but if it keeps raining we better start soon.
Poor Riley. I hope he will make a full recovery. A big dog can do a lot of damage to a little dog
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. Very summery..
I'm so sorry to hear about your chihuahua - what a horrible thing to happen! I hope she heals quickly.
ReplyDeleteWe've actually had some rain here in arid Texas. It did very little to settle the dust but it sure made the weeds grow.
That birthday cake sure looks good!
