Cookies, Hubby, X-Men and Snow....

Hi,

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. 'C' decided Wednesday that she wanted to make cookies from scratch. So we went by after school and picked up the stuff we would need. No, I usually do not make cookies from scratch, I buy the packs you break off the squares and cook...quicker...ha. She mixed up the dough with a little bit of my help. She split it into thirds with chocolate chip in one, white chips and macadamia nuts in another and reeses peanut butter chips in the last. They tasted pretty good.

Hubby went for his biopsy, he will go the 26th for the results. The doctor didn't see anything suspicious on the ultrasound so I hope that is a good sign. He did have a problem later on with his blood pressure dropping too low, making him feel faint. I kept it checked, it was 92/60 first, then 89/59 then 90/60. It finally went up enough he started feeling better. They added 5mg of Lisinopril earlier this year, I think I blogged about it. I didn't think it was necessary because what he is taking keeps his blood pressure low enough and that just made it lower. I think that, in addition to what they gave him for the biopsy, is what caused it to drop. But he is better now, he didn't have any pain and he played golf this morning.

I also watched all of the X-Men movies with daughter 'J'. Not my usual type movie but they were 'ah- ight'...southern for alright.

My Mama scanned some pictures and sent them to me so I could show Lucy that we have gotten some pretty good snowstorms in the south. The first three are from 1973 and the last two are 1994. We got one in 1977 too but we didn't have any pictures of that one.
This is standing in front of the house, facing our neighbor.

My brother Terrie and I and our dog Skipper.
Doesn't looked posed does it...ha.
Us again by our neighbors fence. She lost that metal building
(behind us) a few years later in Hurricane Eloise.

I lived in Kansas at this time so
I missed this one.

Oh yeah, it was cool enough for a pair of jeans and a long sleeve shirt yesterday.
I'll go now,
Have a great weekend everyone,
Sheila

  2. I pray that your husband's biopsy turns out ok also that his B/P soon settles down. Like you if his pressure is low why give him another b/p medicine. Bet those cookies are good. I remember the big snow of 1994. I hope we don't a big one like that this winter. Thanks for you prayers and thanks for coming by and leaving a comment. Have a blessed weekend. Helen

  3. This entry is 'ah-ight', we sure know how to treat the kings English don't we! LOL

WE had several big snows in NC, but not on a regular basis. I still laugh as I mentioned on some blog, when they say snow at home the grocery stores sell out of bread and milk. It is like this is a month long blizzard is here and we know it will be gone itn two days. LOL
Have a good Sunday, glad you got to see the X-Men.
If the boss played Golf, he B OK.
Love from Arkansas (getting cold here)

  4. Wow you did get snow!! When it is so wet it just downs power lines and trees and wreaks havoc. Joe is on so many statin's and his muscles hurt. If he was not on those meds he would be dead and that is no lie. He handles his meds really good but they increased one of his cause his blood work was not as good as it has been. Good luck on hubby's biopsy.

  5. I don't know what I prepare from scratch. When you can buy good things we don't need to spend time in the Kitchen. I have got to
start raking leaves and want have
the strength to be in the Kitchen.

    LOL

  6. I hope you all enjoyed C's cookies. Joe drives me nuts with his Med's when it comes time to fill his pill boxes. He goes off the original paper they gave him right after his first check up, and I have never seen so many weird notes, arrows and the paper has holes in it. I was at the table trying to eat breakfast when he was doing his box and now I have a headache from watching. lol

  7. C's homemade cookies sound yummy. I can't remember the last time I made cookies homemade.

I hope the results of your hubby's biopsy comes back negative for any problems.

It's been cold here but we are supposed to have a little warm up for a few days and then more rain headed our way. We get some pretty big snows here in KY from time to time and though it's pretty coming down I dread it. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

  11. I appreciate your encouragement. I just have a hard time when someone lets me know they think I am wrong and they use "anonymous". I am about out of my childhood years except for little bits that pop up.
