Grrr...

Good Morning Everyone,

I had to decorate my blog for Halloween. Thanks to Joyce at 'Tags Only' for the header picture and entry picture. http://tagsandalittlechatter.blogspot.com/. I don't know how to put it in where all you have to do is click 'Joyce' or 'tags only'. (Thanks Debbie, I tried it and it worked, quite simple really...ha.)

We have the worst cable company ever. I won't say the name of it but it starts with an 'M' has 'edia' in the middle and 'com' on the end... :) We have been pretty lucky, of all the places we have lived, we have had pretty decent service...but not here...we had the service since we moved here over 4 years ago, and I have lost count of how many times I have had to call them to come out.

Yeah, I know I could call a satellite service but you are stuck with them for two years and they may be as bad or worse...but they are still an option. We have a cable box in the corner of our front yard by the woods, but we aren't hooked up to that one...oh no, we are hooked up to the one on the other side of our neighbors, because the wire was cut to ours and I guess it was too much trouble to fix!? They did fix it eventually, a few years later.

They never came back to bury our cable when we moved in, so when they were building the house next door, the workers buried it for us. Well come to find out, the cable was above the ground by the box (probably from an earlier fix) and the neighbors lawn service run over it with their lawn mowers...so our cable went out about 3:00 pm Friday. It would have been out until yesterday morning, because that's as soon as they could get a technician out, but Hubby went and bought some connectors when he got back from golf Saturday and reconnected it. (couldn't miss those football games...ha)

But it still didn't work, so we found a cable with connectors on both ends that was left over from our house in Texas. He hooked that one up in place of the old one that was coming out of the box and it worked. He called them and told them he wanted them to make sure they notified me when they got here to fix it because he wanted our cable back..ha. So the guy put new cable on, gave me ours back and buried it...and I got a new remote...ha. Oh well, can I keep my fingers crossed that nothing else will ever happen??

We took it easy the rest of the weekend, 'C' went over to a friends Saturday and then to the fair with her on Sunday. We also grilled hamburgers and hot dogs on Sunday.

Hubby and I went to the doctor yesterday for his biopsy results. He doesn't have cancer, but he has a small spot of 'funny' cells, not cancerous or pre-cancerous but they will keep an eye on them. He'll go back in six months for a check.

Have a great day,
Sheila

  1. Hi Shelia, Your Halloween page looks pretty. I was going to tell you how to highlight a name and add an url by opening the link icon but for some reason it has changed on me.
Sending up prayers that your husband stays cancer free.

  2. It's so good to hear your husband doesn't have cancer and I hope those funny cells never become anything to worry about.

Your blog decorations look great. I don't know how to do the link thingy either. My daughter tried to show me on the other computer but she couldn't get it to work and she hasn't tried to show me on this computer yet. Oh well, guess I'll eventually learn how to do some of this stuff on blogs.

I got a good chuckle from your not revealing your cable companies name. Thanks for the laugh! Hopefully, since they finally buried the cable you won't have any more problems. We don't have cable all we have is amplified rabbit ears and after they switched to DTV my hubby couldn't pick up any stations until he put some aluminum foil on the tops of the ears, ha ha. If it rains or it's windy it loses it signal and when somebody is driving down the road with a cell phone in their vehicle it makes it go wacky, lol.

PS: I'd be envious if you got to meet Jack & Sherry and I didn't get to. I hope you get to meet them some day soon, you'll love them just like we do.

  3. Hi Sheila,
Since I had 2 link's in my last entry I decided to play around with it to see if I could learn how. It's very simple if you want to try it with Joyce's link.

Go to your dashboard and click on edit post. Beside this entry it will say Edit View, click on edit and it will bring up your entry. Highlight Joyce's name by left clicking your mouse & moving your arrow across it. Then click on the link thingy (little frog eyes looking thing beside your Text colors at the top. Then type in Joyce's link in the little box that comes up and click ok. Then left click on your mouse so it undoes the highlight. Joyce's name should show up with an underline if it does then you can erase the link you have here by going to the end of the link and backspacing until it disappears. Scroll down and click on publish post again.

I know this sounds complicated but it isn't, it's very easy. I hope this helps I sure wish I had tried it before.

  6. Nice looking decor!!!
So glad the biopsy showed no cancer. We can live with funny cells, that are not cancerous.
Service companies are infuriating that do not provide what they advertise.
WE are back in NC for awhile.
    LOve Ya!

Glad cancer didn't show up. We
are having rain and I didn't even
do the rain dance. Jack and Sherry
are back in NC I had to reopen the
park. Who knows how long they will
be here and decide to be back on the road again. They really had
fun meeting Ora, Debbie, and Teri
and their husbands. I am jealous.

  9. Hi, glad things went well with husband test. I have been having some trouble with the Internet since I got on cable last night and on some tonight it didn't want to let me in blogs. Well I think it could be the firewall protection that I got I'm about ready to delete it out. Take care, Love you, mom

  10. Hi Sheila, I don't think I made it to very many blogs yesterday so will try to make my way around. That is a mum plant and I bet you could grow that really easy in your state. They are very hardy. Mine was a gift at the end of winter and I prolonged its life as long as possible inside but it had to go out as soon as spring arrived. We covered it in the beginning because spring was pretty cold at night around here.It was snowed on, several light frosts and I was so surprised to see it blooming I came in and got my camera. Take care.
