Hope you are having nice weather in your town.
Have a bit of news I wanted to share with you...My youngest daughter 'C' won First Place in the Congressional Art Show. They will display the painting at the U.S. Capitol for one year, beginning in June I believe. There is a local award ceremony on April 18th, then there will be a ceremony, in June, in Washington DC. We are very proud of and for her. Here is a photo of the painting she took with her cell phone, just after she finished it.
'Lanterns''C' was also part of the Academic Lettering Ceremony at school on Friday. They are awarded to students with a 3.7 or higher grade point average.

Today, my Girls and I have our 6 month check-up at the dentist. I also have to run 'C' by the Orthodontist to get impressions of her teeth for new temporary retainers. She has permanent ones, but they don't hold her teeth in place as well. He says it is harder to hold bites in place, which is why she wore braces. I hope, in time, the permanent ones will do their job. Any way, the reason she needs new ones is... she broke the bottom one when she was brushing it clean last night...
Take care,

I know how proud you are of your girls and with good reason. If I had one tenth of the painting ability your daughter has I would love it. My oldest that passed away from MS loved to draw and paint. Has your mom got her results?? I am hoping soon on mine, I am also hoping for an antibiotic for my throat today. I keep losing my voice and the tonsils swelled back up.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Miss C!!! That is awesome :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful announcement for your BLOG. Makes a great 'BRAGGING' entry. WE are proud for her, this is great.
ReplyDeleteWhat an honor to be displayed in the Capitol. Bragging rights for her, and Mom and I am sure the rest of the family. Grandma is bursting her buttons too I bet.
It is also nice to hear good grades in young folk. And it don't hurt a bit that she is pretty!
Love and congratulations from North CArolina!
