I'm still here!

Hello,

Sorry it took me so long to make an entry. We are all good, I celebrated a birthday last week, Monday the 12th to be exact. 'C' was out for spring break last week so we just enjoyed hanging out at home. I took 'C' out for a family history lesson when we were home. I let her practice driving out on some of the back roads and after turning down one wrong road and having to back track, we drove by my aunt's house. She happens to live in the home my Mom grew up in.

Then we went up a little further, to the church that my grandfather helped build. We passed a couple walking on the way, I told 'C' not to hit them, they are probably related to us....and they were...

We walked around the church cemetery and I showed her all her relatives that are buried there. These were relatives on my Mom's side. Mom's sister, brother and their spouses, her sisters daughter, my grandparents, great aunts and uncles, Mom's cousins. 'C' had been there before when she was about four, but she didn't remember it.

I hope everyone is having a nice week,
Sheila

  3. Once I saw the picture on my dashboard, I couldn't wait to get here. I knew it would be good. I love the picture!
What a great day you described. Yes! how great to be able to 'show' history. Too often the youngsters do not know their roots. That was neat that the folks were really kin!
    Take care, again, loved it.

Did I misread, or is a belated Happy birthday appropriate, if not happy birthday whenever!
