North Carolina gave me hives...

Okay, technically Washington state gave me hives...but North Carolina brought them back. I did have them a few times in the first year or two of living in Mobile but then they went away.

What happened was...when we moved into our home in Washington I somehow caused my leg to hurt, under the knee on the front left side or there abouts. It was my left leg. It wasn't my knee that hurt, and sometimes the leg would ache while driving and I would get a twinge of pain on the opposite side at my ankle. I think it was some type of muscle or tendon irritation (seems like the Internet showed a tendon or ligament that ran from that area across to the ankle).

Anyway, we moved into our house around the 20th of Sept. and I finally went to the doctor to have it checked out in April. He gave me some pain meds to take for a month to see if that would stop it. When I was almost through taking them I started getting hives...only in the evenings, except for once in the morning but there were just a few and it didn't last long. I thought it was the meds so I stopped taking them with just 3 or so left...no change....we walked in the evening so after checking some things online, thought maybe that was it...no, still had them on days we didn't walk. As for leg, Doc thought it was knee (wasn't knee), tried physical therapy, didn't work.

Went to my parents during the summer. It got a lot better there, but as soon as I went up the stairs the first time home it started up again. Doc told me to keep walking, would help 'knee'... it's not the knee....finally the walking was making it hurt worse so we stopped...I think around September it finally stopped bothering me. We only lived in WA a little over two years, after we moved to AL I had them a few times the first year or so, around spring and again near fall, but they weren't as bad as before. Then they stopped...finally.

Then I move to North Carolina and all h*ll breaks lose, they are back with a vengeance, and I get them in the evening and in the morning. Took Benedril a few times then had Hubby pick up some Zyrtec. I started taking it at night and they stopped. I'm not taking Zyrtec this week to see if they will stay away.

I'm still trying to figure out if Jack found out I had them in Washington and sprinkled something in the air to bring them back before he and Sherry left on their USA tour...hummm.

Okay, now on to another subject...like this one wasn't long enough....The Salvation Army picked up our old table and chairs and a dresser the morning before Hubby picked up our new set and our chair. Had no trouble setting the rocker recliner up. We had to put the table and chairs together....that table was/is a heavy sucker. We put the table and two chairs together that night before our back and hips said no more, we are to old and fat to be wallowing on the floor. Anyway, we get started on the last two and wouldn't you know, the very last leg on the last chair didn't have the insert in the hole for the bolt to screw into...so calls to the furniture store and they are supposed to be sending one in the mail. So for now the lone chair is lying on the floor against the wall until the part gets here....to be continued...

Hope everyone is having a great week,
Sheila

  1. What a bummer, that powder I spread was meant for my ex daughter in law. Wow it was blown all the way to Raleigh! Sorry about that.

I hate to hear of the suffering and just as much about the missing insert. If anything is frustrating it is when doing the "SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED" that all is not there. BIG BUMMER!

Hope you are better soon and teh part arrives sooner than later.

Anyway Love is sent from Albuquerque (I am trying to spell that enough time to learn how to spell it correctly)

  2. You are under to much stress,
packing, getting use to new places,
    new friends and making decisions.

I hope you get to feeling better
because I want you to get the
gang together that does the rain
dance. We need rain bad. Let me
know what day you will be dancing
and I will join them. Wasn't Lucy
one of the dancers? Hope she is
    able to join the dancers.

  3. That's so bizarre about the hives. Are you feeling better now?

  4. Yes Tango, I am better for now. I haven't taken a zyrtec this week to see if they stay away. If not I may go to the doctor and see if he can find out what is causing them...but the zyrtec worked at keeping them away.
