Catch up time...

I have not left the planet. The Christmas decorations are gone. We took down the outside ones the weekend after we got home. But I like to leave the tree inside up for just a little longer so I can enjoy it. I lose two weeks or so when we go home for Christmas...ha. Well, the girls and I stay longer, Hubby got a week...

 Sam enjoyed the Christmas paper.
Doesn't he just look ornery?

Shawn (brother) and Iliana (his wife) in the pecan tree.
I think they were trying to shake down some pecans.
Then he started throwing a rope with a lock on it to wrap around the limb
and shake, but toward the end it got hung and took about an hour before
he got it loose...ha. But we did get a lot of pecans picked up, then taken to get cracked,
then we shelled them.
Miss Morgan (niece) was sweeping them off the shed.

Last weekend I helped Hubby build him a step up to his shed. I was the official board holder and co-carrier. He was trying out one of his new drills. I did get to set up the charger and charge the batteries. He was very happy with the drill's performance...ha.

Oh, I have proved to be psychic. Remember back when we first moved into the house and they hooked up our phone across the empty lot to a box on the other side? And I was afraid, as has happened in the past, that when they started building a house next door that said cable would get cut? Well it did happen...maybe I should invest in a crystal ball....I went out to make them aware of the fact...they would call it in...I had a card from the guy that came out when I was trying to get it moved before this happened, so I called him too and he called it in to dispatch...don't know if the one that cut it actually called or not. But the next morning, while I was looking for the main 800 number to make sure it had been called in, my phone rang...fixed. The builder is supposed to bury it before they pour the driveway.....we'll see how that goes, I hope for the best.

Last but not least, we are going to extend the driveway so three cars can park next to each other. Hopefully as soon as the rain stops and the ground dries out a little...

Roll Tide,
Sheila

  1. I LOVE pecans. It must be great to pick your own. Sam looks cute all wrapped up. I used to be my hubby's official helper back when he could do stuff. His hands are so arthritic he can't hold his tools anymore. So sad. A shame about that cable line getting cut. From the sound of it, you'll be lucky if it all works out in the end. Extending your driveway sounds like a BIG project. Good Luck. Take care.

  3. SAm looks happy to me. Cats make some of the best pictures, I think because they are so independent and don't worry about the thing around them.

What kind of Drill? Inquiring minds want to know.

I see it now, Jean the second! Soon he won't get to use the drill you will have it.

I hate it about the phone line, but since I am on the subject, I need the #'s for the next lottery!!! You can e-mail them, I would hate for someone else to see them and use them. LOL

Funny(not) thing about buried stuff, NC stresses call bed for you dig, threaten big fines etc. But I have never heard of a fine being levied. (I did cut one once, but repaired it myself to hide the fact. hahaha.
Enjoyed the read and great entry.
(Don't forget the numbers, I need the ones for Power Ball and the Florida Lottery. thanks.)

I will gladly pay the physic fees (after).

    Love from down in Florida!!!!
