Picked a peck of pickled peppers...

I am enjoying this cooler weather we have been having. We had a couple of days of rain, no complaining, we needed it. Little Rylie (dog) is almost as good as new. Everything has healed, her hair that was shaved has to catch up with the rest though. She had an open wound on her side just behind her front leg that took the longest to heal. It was heart shaped. She did lose a front tooth in the battle and she snores a little more now. Her bark is still a little different too.

Hubby is still in pain, he is going to the chiropractor. He has a slipped disk in that area. He has meds from the doctor. I didn't mention it before but our regular doctor passed away on Memorial day. He had just turned 50 on May 4th. Had a heart attack while out riding his bike...we could hardly believe it. Hubby had been to him when he first had problems with his upper back/shoulder, so I called the office yesterday about some meds and the other doctor called him in some.

On another note, before we went to Alabama in August, I picked the cayenne and jalapeno peppers and put up a can of each in jars. After I got back home I picked the cayenne and a couple that were left on the jalapeno and bought some more jalapeno (that may be hotter than mine were) and put up three more jars. The cayenne has a couple of whole and a couple of sliced (lengthwise) jalapeno in it. Then I have a jar of whole jalapenos and a jar of sliced (lengthwise again) jalapeno. I've been eating on the first jar I put up, had some just yesterday and probably will have some today.

Charlie (other dog) is barking in his sleep...ha. I'll go for now, I hope everyone has a great weekend!
Take care,
Sheila

  2. I made so many mistakes in my writing so I deleted it. Lol. I hope your husband is feeling better I understand how his kind of pain is, and it's bad. I took Sam back for his checkup this afternoon and she said he was doing great. Glad you got the pepper put in jars I think mine has stop making. Love You, Mom

    1. Yeah, I think my peppers are done too. I still have a few cherry tomatoes and one of the bigger tomatoes on the vine. They may not get ripe before it gets too cold. Glad Sam is doing good, you won't have to leave home now...ha. Love you!

  3. Such a shock for a doctor or anyone to die so young. My husband died at almost 53. Just too young for anyone but I guess there is a reason. Anyway hope you have a good doctor to take your doctor's place.

    1. It is Paula, too young...so sad. They are still interviewing for a new doctor, he will be hard to replace. They have another doctor and a couple of physician assistants that are handling things for now.

  4. I must have missed whatever happened to your dog. Those pickled peppers will be good with greens, beans and such. Hope hubby gets ok with his back. Our doc is in his 50's also.

  5. Glad your dog is on the mend. And your hubby too. The peppers sound good. Fifty is so young, such a shame about your husbands doctor.
