We had broasted chicken the other night....we had a Dairy Queen that sold it for many many years, but it was sold and they changed the name to Dairy Delite, well they didn't last long and was closed down....no more broasted chicken and no more western sauce hot dogs....then the local IGA grocery store started selling it, but Mom said it wasn't as good. Well, last Saturday I rented a hotel room in town for my girls and a friend so they could swim. They had wanted to go to the beach but we had thunderstorms and Florida did too. Anyway, when I was checking them in, the older lady working there said that Benton's (another local joint) was selling broasted chicken now. So we got some the other night to try...they are close enough to perfect for me...so now I can get my broasted chicken fix when I am in town...ha. Now if I can just get the western sauce recipe for my hot dogs I'll be set... :D
I didn't get to celebrate Hubby's birthday with him because he is in NC. But I will get or make him a cake when he comes back. We had a small cake Memorial day weekend we used to celebrate our anniversary, my sister-in-laws birthday and Hubby's.
Just wanted to check in, we are still at my parents.
Have a nice week,
Sheila
PS. Jack, did you tell me once NC doesn't have love bugs? My daughter was asking...
Do they have broasted chicken? Ha
I don't know anything about broasted chicken but it sounds good to me. Good idea for a nice place to swim. We have a new motel right up the street, maybe I should think about doing that sometime.
ReplyDeleteAhhh the broasted chicken, a couple stores around here have it, and if I said we had NO love bugs, I lied. YES we have'em. I can't remember when they come around, but they do. (Or is that florida?) When Sherry comes in from VBS I will find out.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the entry. Nice of you to rent a room so the kids could swim.
Sure wish you were close to here, this pool is ready.
Love from NC
We have broasted chicken here. Now I no why no one moves to Nebraska. You all are a little clan afraid of a little cold!!! OK, I know, I know, I am jealous. Those kids are cute as can be. I like your blog.
ReplyDeleteI know nothing about love bugs.
ReplyDeleteWe have all kinds of Chicken.
Yesterday when I was visiting Jack
you would not believe the kin
folks that drove up and headed straight for the pool. They have
to keep MJ inside or he will jump
in with the crowd. That dog is funny. How nice of you to rent
a room so the girls can go swimming. Love the pictures.
I think you will like NC. My retired Methodist Minister lives
there. We one lived in Burlington
very close to Greensboro, NC.
