it looked like Christmas with all the lights
everywhere.
Las Vegas.
Hello Everyone,
Here it is Friday again. It came quick with three days vacation at the beginning of the week...ha.
For the ones that might not know, Mobile celebrates Mardi Gras, they say this is were Mardi Gras began...before New Orleans. Since I wasn't born or raised here I just have to take their word for it.

Hubby will head out in the morning to play golf. Thank you for the prayers for my friend, she finally got results back from her tests and the mass was benign. My In-laws friend had a stroke and she is slowly making improvements but she has a long road ahead. Thanks for the prayers for her too.
Ok, I started this Friday night but I didn't finish it until today. Hubby played golf and finished up about 11:00 am. Just before the skies opened up and the rain poured.
When I was eight months pregnant with my first child, I was able to go with my Husband ''R" on a business trip to Las Vegas. Everything seemed to be lit up with lights. I remember thinking it looked like Christmas year round. One morning while he was working, I decided to walk up the hill from our hotel to look around at the gift shops. I would not advise walking uphill when you are eight months pregnant...It wore me out...ha. But I rested up before I headed back, at least it was downhill this time. This was mid-August 1990. I also took a picture in the 'Golden Nugget' casino and was quickly told I could not take pictures in there. I did take one more without the flash. I lived dangerously didn't I...ha.
'Til next time,
take care,
Sheila

You did live dangerously my girl. I was as far as the LasVegas bus depot years ago. I guess I was in my mid twenties or early 30's. Had a lay over there and I did not move I was so afraid of getting lost. Lucy Glad you are back where you belong with our friends & me.
ReplyDeleteWell I had never heard that about Mobile being the birth place of Mardi Gras.
ReplyDeleteLas Vegas makes an impression, gambler or not. Taking Pictures is banned for some reason in so many places, I cannot understand their reason in there.
Oh well, I am sure glad the mass is benign, Lord I know that is a relief. Gotta make you feel good. Hope it doesn't get too cool there, they are forcasting snow here tomorrow. ugh!
Take care.

I went to Vegas one time with three other women. We flew in at night and it was something to see. We stayed high up in The Imperial and the fire alarm went off and scared us to death.
ReplyDeleteI'll never know what Vegas looks like except through everyone's pictures. My brother and his wife have been there a couple of times and really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteYour story of being 8 months pregnant and going uphill reminds me of my Aunt when she was that far along and was picking greenbeans in our garden which was on a hill. She went rolling down the hill when she tried to get up from squatting. She thought it was so funny.
I hope you're getting the snow you were wishing for I noticed parts of Alabama and Georgia are getting snow. The snow and ice went south of us thank goodness.
Debbie
Thanks for coming by my blog and leaving a comment. Wish I could have sent some of the snow your way. Some parts of AL got as much as 4 inches. I like to see it come and the go quickly. I have never been to Vagas but have went to Mobile before. But it's been a long time.Glass that nass was benign. Helen
