Rain, goulash and gum...

Hello All,

We're all well at this end. It has been raining here since this afternoon. After Hubby got back from golfing we went to the grocery store, yes, you read that right grocery store. We don't go to the grocery store together often...ha. Plus golfing usually wears him out...ha. He wanted to fix what we call goulash. It is real similar to the goulash Paula Dean makes (we saw her make it on her show once), I asked did he know Paula long ago and get her recipe...he says no...ha. We also got some steaks to fix tomorrow, hopefully the rain will have stopped by then.

This next part is in honor of Shirl, http://ncbelmontbelle.blogspot.com/, you can read her story of the gum incident. This was late July of 1993, 'J' would have been three in September. Our extended family was on vacation at the beach in Panama City, Fl. 'J' had been sitting on the couch quietly for awhile. We didn't notice what she was doing. She came over to us because she couldn't open her eye...she had stuck gum to her closed eye and squished it on there so well she couldn't open it...I called around to some doctors office to find out the safest way to get it off...I finally got a nurse who told us to use peanut butter. My brother was the main one who worked the peanut butter in several times until we finally got all the gum off. He took these pics before we got it all off...

I don't think Goo Gone would have worked in this case...
Take care,
Sheila

  1. It's been raining here since early Friday morning. Guess they thought peanut butter wouldn't sting her eye, poor thing. Helen

  2. You have got to love it. Peanut butter of all things. Guess it is better than super glue. Never a dull moment with kids. Lucy

  5. That is so funny, at least the
green Juicy Fruit gum was on my
rear. This has become a real joke
everybody has to check to see it I
have sit down in any more gum.
Peanut butter on the eyes that is
good to know. You are right I don't think Goo Gone would have
    worked. Direction avoid prolong
contact with skin and keep out of
reach of children. So peanut butter
worked for the young and GOO GONE
for adults only if on your blue jeans. Sheila I got a real good
laugh, but glad she is OK. Children
    love to try new experience.
Now we both can tell of dealing
with chewing gun when not in the mouth where it belongs.
