Ok, I promised to take a picture of those long french green beans (that's what Winn Dixie called them anyway). I layed them out next to a 12 inch ruler. They may have been some kind of mutation...ha or hybrid. But I have never seen any kind of green or string bean this long. They tasted good even if they did look a little strange.
We did get some more rain yesterday.
Hubby is out playing golf today. He's missed a few weekends with the yard work and holiday.
I hope everyone has a great weekend,
stay cool,
Sheila
I showed John your picture of the green beans. He said he calls those pole green beans. I think I would like them. Good rest of the week-end to ya.
ReplyDeleteI never liked picking beans, but these? shoot I could fill up a bucket in a little while. I was never fond of stringing and popping beans (mama's words) but these are different. I am glad you put the picture on. I have been wondering about them since you mentioned them.
ReplyDeleteWe don't do fresh beans anymore, but if we did these would be the ones for me.!
TAke care.

Those beans look like they mutated out of my neighbors back yard. I will say, I have never seen any like that. Not real fond of home grown green beans unless it has bacon and minced onion in it. Thanks for the email.
