Saturday update...

One of Lucy's neighbors (I don't think it was the alcoholic one), saw her out building something in the snow.....

They thought it was a snowman.....

but it wasn't....

I guess she is tired of winter...

I'm just teasing...our sweet Lucy wouldn't build something like this in the snow......she might think about it....but she wouldn't do it....ha.
Thank you Lucy for the blog award...I appreciate it very much. I won't make a list of people I'd like to give it too, because if I read your blog I find it interesting so you are all welcome to snag it.

We are all good here, I didn't intend to wait this long to update. 'J' and I had a wedding shower to attend for one of her friends this afternoon. We had a good time. Hubby 'R' got to play golf today but he is working tomorrow.

If you will, send up some prayers for my Mom, she is having a time with one of her eyes. She has been to her regular eye doctor and a specialist and they keep changing the medicine trying to get it cleared up. She will go back to the specialist on Monday.

Well, I'll go,
have a good weekend everyone,
Sheila

Valentines, Mardi Gras and Armadillas...

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a nice Valentine's Day. We did, lots of candy and cards, Steak for Hubby and Prime rib for me from O'Charley's...and an Elvis sighting...he came into O'Charley's, black hair, long sideburns, trademark sunglasses...he drinks Co*rs light by the way. I wanted so bad to get a picture with my cell but he was sitting facing me. I tried a couple of times but just couldn't get it. You'll just have to take my word for it...ha. We also shopped for a couple of new rocker recliners, we found one style we liked, but want to check out another store before we decide.

'J' and I are watching the Mardi Gras parades on TV. A lot better than standing in the chilly air, and I have plenty of beads from when we first moved here.

Lucy, I didn't make a snowball to hit the armadillo with, but Hubby had to work a little while Saturday and when he got home there was one tearing up the front yard again...I won't get graphic but lets just say we have one less armadillo.

Have a great week,
Sheila

Snow pics..

Here are some pics from our house and my Parent's house. They got way more than we did. But at least we got some...ha.

This is the left side of our house.
(if you are standing in front looking at the house)

My and 'J's car.
It got thick enough you couldn't see the color
of the car through the snow.

This is looking out the front door
after it had started melting.
It covered the ground pretty good except for the
walkway, driveway, sidewalk and road.
We had a little sleet in between snow falls and that
sped up the melting.

This is at my Parent's,
looking out the side door toward the front.

Front yard at my Parent's.

Left side yard looking toward back.

Left side looking toward front corner.

I promised Lucy I would lay off the snow dancing, at least until we get another chance at it...ha. I'm trying to get it far enough that Jack and Sherry can enjoy it...even though Jack claims he doesn't like it or want it. I think Shirl would love for them to share in it too, being the loving sister of Jack that she is...

Have a great weekend everyone,

Sheila

It's snowing!!!!

I wonder if H*ll is freezing over too....ha. This is a view out the back door. I set the alarm off by opening the back door before I turned it off...ha. It is sticking, wish we could get a foot...It started snowing at Mom's an hour or so before us. The schools are closed so we are enjoying a snow day, plus they are out Monday and Tuesday for president's day and Mardi Gras.

On to other things...Got to brag a little...'J' made the honor roll for her first semester in college and she got an invite to join Phi Theta Kappa. 'C' also made 'A' honor roll again.

Last Thursday, 'J's art class was following the teacher in their cars to an art museum downtown. 'J' and another girl got separated at a light (a few others got separated too), she called me to get the address but they still couldn't find it, so she came home. On Tuesday she found out that the ones who made it to the museum all got a ticket for driving in the turn lane...I'm kind of glad she didn't make it...ha. The teacher told them it was all right, since she didn't plan it very well.

Have a great day everyone,
Sheila

Weekends go by too fast...

Hello Everyone,

Not much to talk about this weekend. Hubby is still coughing but otherwise is doing well. He had to work yesterday and today.

'J' and I watched a couple of movies Saturday night. 'Easy Virtue' with Jessica Biel, 'J' likes her in movies like I like Sandra Bullock. The other was 'Family that Preys', it was pretty good too. Last week, Hubby, J and I watched 'The Man that Came Back'. I saw it with Mom and Dad, but since it had 'Victor' from Young and Restless in it, I ordered it from Wally World.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, and wish you all a good week ahead,
Sheila

Hubby and hard drives...

Hubby is doing much better, the shots seemed to do the job. He went to work today and he has to work tomorrow, so no golf. His aches and pains are gone, just a cough now. But he has prescribed cough medicine and antibiotics to take for the next week, so hopefully that will be gone soon. Thanks for the get well wishes.

I bought me an external hard drive today. Been wanting one for awhile, so when I got a $25 dollar off coupon from Office M*x I took my Christmas money I got and bought one and a case to keep it in. It is blue, and quite cute...ha. It came with a 'muvee' a movie making software, hopefully it will come in handy when I try to put my home movies on DVD.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I'm going to go take some Tylenol, see if I can get rid of this slight headache.

Take care,
Sheila

Doctor visit...

Hi,

Hubby did stay home from work today and went to the doctor. They gave him a shot of antibiotic and a shot of a steroid. Also a prescription for a cough medicine. The doctor said he could take Mucinex too. His heart doctor told me Tuesday he could take plain Robitussin, so I will compare and see which will do him the most good. I hope he will stay home again tomorrow so he has a long weekend to get over it.

Jack, you set a craving on me that day you talked about pinto beans and corn bread. That is what I fixed for our supper on Tuesday. I also sliced up an onion. Kids wouldn't eat any, but that is their loss...ha. Then I had corn bread later for my buttermilk.

I ordered 'C' a couple of books to help her study for the ACT and it showed that the Gnip Gnop game I almost got a year ago was even cheaper, so I ordered me one. Kind of fun to have a game from your youth...ha.

Take care everyone,
Sheila

Fits and fever...

Hello,

Daughter 'J' finally got her laptop repaired. We first called on the 14th, were supposed to hear from the repair guy in 2-3 days. We didn't. Called back, said he called 3 times...I said not here he didn't because someone has been here all day, everyday. We had the laptops sent to my Mom's Christmas before last and even though I give them my name and address and phone number every time, and have told them EVERY TIME to take Mom's info off, they were calling her number. So Mom if you were getting a strange number calling, that was what it was. The guy came Monday and replaced the mother board and the part her touch pad is on. I tried calling again tonight, to get her name taking off. My info is on it too, but for some reason they use the shipping address, not the billing. They transferred me 4 different times...I gave up. I went online and added hers and 'C's to my account, and put my address on there too. Maybe one day we will get it straightened out. Oh, and the name of the company is Hell...except with a D. (By the way, the guy came a little after 6pm and didn't finish until after 10pm.)

On to other things, Hubby is still sick, he wasn't feeling good Monday night and came home about 3:30 Tuesday and went to bed. He had a fever and his blood pressure was high. But later on I took his blood pressure again and it was back where it should be. He went to work today with a 100.9 fever, was going to take care of a few things and go to the doctor but was stuck in a board meeting all day. I told him he needed to stay home tomorrow and go to the doctor...

Everyone have a great day,
Sheila
