Happy Birthday Cori!!

Yesterday was our baby's 18th birthday, so Happy Birthday Cori !! I intended to post this last night but didn't get around to it. Took her out to eat and where did she choose to eat?...IH0P. She does like her IH0P...ha.

This picture is from when we lived in Texas, and she and Jarin got their kittens...Blackie on the left (Cori's) and Nadia on the right (Jarin's). They were siblings. Blackie left a few days after he came to Mobile, but Nadia stayed around until she passed away last May. Cori is about 8 years old here.

We are getting rained on today...so far that is all it is, no thunderboomers. Jarin and I are supposed to go see the new Madea movie. I tried to talk Cori into going but she doesn't want to.

Happy Easter!!

The storms have passed...

We are still here. It has been a busy week. Jarin had two different days of medical tests, I had a birthday and Cori had a doctor appointment on Friday. (Do you like how I snuck in the birthday...sshhh..ha). We had a little stormy weather but not bad. It was a bit windy yesterday afternoon after the storms passed through, but it left a clear blue sky. Hubby is enjoying some golf today. We tried a different Mexican Restaurant in town for my birthday. We liked it better than the other one we have tried. I received some pretty flowers and cards and a reading light for my nook. I am also going to get that Reader's Digest subscription for the nook that I have been putting off. I haven't been able to decide what I want  for my 'bigger' gift...ha.

Cori turns 18 years old on Thursday and they are out Friday for Easter (would have been Monday too, but it is a snow make-up day). Jarin wants to go see Scream 4 ( I think it is 4) and Madea's new movie.

Well I'll go, hope everyone has a great week,
Take care,
Sheila

Website and wisdom tooth...

The rattlesnake rodeo also has entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. This year it was Colt Ford on Friday and Rodney Atkins on Saturday. Local talent performs during the day also. You can enter the buck dancing contest or climb a greased pole. There is stuff for the little kids to do. There is a website (rattlesnakerodeo.com) and from there you can connect to them on facebook. They are supposed to add some pictures on facebook.
I think this is the plane Mom saw flying over her house during the rodeo. The newspaper posted a picture on facebook. It looks like an old plane, Hubby said it looked like a DC-3. Cori had her wisdom tooth extracted yesterday. The doctor gave her pain meds and an antibiotic to take. She thought she wouldn't need the pain meds...but she did. She would get on the computer, then start feeling bad and end up lying down on the couch for awhile....then try again...I think the meds would make her nauseated. She was sick once so she didn't take anymore pain meds. She was holding an ice pack to her face again when I went to bed. Don't know yet if she decided to take another dose before she went to bed.
Time to go, fixing spaghetti today.
Take care, Sheila

51st Rattlesnake Rodeo...

My hometown had it's 51st Rattlesnake Rodeo this past weekend. No, I didn't get to go but I snagged a few pictures from our local papers facebook page...and yes, I have eaten fried rattlesnake.

For most of it's years it was held on the first full weekend in March...but after a couple of years (where it was moved to the Covington County fairgrounds in Andalusia)because of weather that was wet or cold, they moved it back to Opp and changed the date to the first full weekend in April. Last year it was toward the end of March because of Easter.

Take care,

Sheila
