Memorial Day.

Hope I'm not causing too much stress...
We had a good dinner today, thanks to my Mom. Ham, dressing, potato salad, mixed vegetable casserole, butter beans, mac and cheese, rolls and butternut cake. Yum yum!!
Hubby and brother's golf game ended after the second hole yesterday due to rain... they tried again today and made it thirteen holes before the rain started.
....one more day...
Take care,
Sheila

Kittens and critters...
Yesterday I took 'C' to Target to see if she could find a bathing suit. This child doesn't like to wear shorts for some reason, but she did get a pair to wear at the beach with her bathing suit. I also got her 2 pair of capris, she will wear those, usually with high socks. She got a few tank tops too.
Now I want to mention one distinct difference between my girls...over the weekend, 'J' and her friend were going somewhere, they went out to the garage and started opening the garage door...as it was opening they saw a black snake lying across the bottom rail of the door. They ran screaming back in the house yelling 'SNAKE'....'C' on the other hand is running out to the garage saying 'I want to see...where is it.....!? We haven't seen the snake so hopefully it got away outside. When 'C' was little she always wanted her hands washed if she got the least little thing on them....yet this same child would catch the geckos that got in our house in Texas and she also came home from a friends at 5 or 6 years old, carrying a dead baby rattlesnake by the tail...she got a good talking to about the dangers of snakes and staying away from them...She also picked up something someone told us was a vole with a washcloth or rag as we call it in the south and pushed it around in her toy stroller...'J' on the other hand was scared of a cricket...ha...
I'll go for now,
Thanks for stopping by,
Sheila

Weather was a little better today...
I've got to brag on my oldest daughter 'J' now, she made the Dean's List in college. We are very proud of her.
It won't be long now and school will be out for summer. My baby will be a senior next year...maybe I shouldn't have had them so close together... Oh well, nothing I can do about it now...ha.
But I do like it when they are out for the summer. 'C' will probably take her ACT in June, I believe it is on the 12th.
I'll go for now,
Take care,
Sheila

I try not to stay away so long...
We're all good at this end. These are the pretty flowers I got for Mother's Day. The girls picked up a cake for me, I wanted another one like Hubby got me for my birthday. I also have discovered, through XM radio, a lady humorist or comedianne that Jack, Sherry and Shirl might have heard of because she is from NC. She is a professional speaker by the name of Jeanne Robertson. Any way, I also got a DVD of her.
We adopted him from the Humane Society.

Happy Mother's Day!!!
You know her as 'Jean'What "Mother" Means
"Mother" is such a simple word,
But to me there’s meaning seldom heard.
For everything I am today,
My mother’s love showed me the way.
I’ll love my mother all my days,
For enriching my life in so many ways.
She set me straight and then set me free,
And that’s what the word "mother" means to me.
Thanks for being a wonderful mother, Mom!

Happy Mother's Day to our Mom's!
We love you,
Sheila and Hubby
Wonderful Grandma
Grandma, you’re so wonderful,
On Mother’s Day I think of you--
The unconditional love you give
The sweet and generous things you do.
You’ve made a difference in my life;
I love you more than I can say.
That’s why I give this poem to you,
To wish you “Happy Mother’s Day!”

We love you,

We made it through the week...
Hope your week has went well.
Hubby had to go on a business trip Monday afternoon and came back Tuesday night. 'J' finished her freshman year of college this week. We got 'C's painting framed and She and I took it to Jo Bonner's office downtown. Did I mention I hate driving downtown? After circling three times around the building I finally called and asked, "where am I supposed to park?" Then we went in, to the security desk, showed my ID, got a badge, went into the specific elevator that goes to his floor, had to scan badge in elevator to go up and down. But they have it now and it should be on it's way to the Capitol soon. I think the exhibit runs from June 15, 2010 until June 15, 2011. We headed back toward home and stopped at a little hole in the wall restaurant that serves 'country cooking'. It was pretty good.
'J' has a friend visiting and they went to the midnight showing of Iron Man 2.......'J' fell asleep..... We watched the first Iron Man before they left and she kept falling asleep then too...she's taking after her Grandmama... :) All three (both daughters and friend) just got back from eating Mexican with 'J's other friends from high school. I also got some songs added to my new iPod, and I did it without my daughters help... Yay me!
The only sad thing of the week was my daughter's cat Nadia passed away. She was about 10 years old. She didn't act sick, so hopefully she died without pain. She'll be missed, even if she was a little ornery.
Here's a pic of 'C's framed painting...it was hard to get a good picture, I kept getting reflections.
Happy Mother's Day to all the Mother's who read my blog!
Thanks for stopping by,
Sheila
